Please consider planting a wide diversity of trees (native species especially). Please do not plant more palm trees.

Please consider making the inventory available for public download as a shapefile. Please consider using shadiness/tree maturity as a factor in the inventory. Transit agencies can use this information to better understand public needs for shade/shelters at transit stops, especially in communities that experience high-degree days.

Please consider providing a public copy of the tree inventory online to download as a shapefile. Transit agencies can use this information to understand the need for bus stop amenity placement for shade and shelters. Please consider including the shadiness/tree maturity as an informational factor in the inventory.

I have put suggestions for a sequester local program into some other working documents and would like to ensure it's also registered here. SD has a unique opportunity to create an opt-in business program that leads to an opt-out program and ultimately generates some $200M per year for carbon sequestration and other climate solutions. We have ordinances ready to go and are in early stage pilots in Sonoma and Boulder, CO.

In general, I would like to see more than official 'trees' included in the planting plans, especially where there are heat islands now. Large shrubs, like Toyon, Lemonade berry, and Ceonothus (in some cases) can get large enough to provide shade quickly. If these shrubs were planted with native trees, it would be a better way to increase shade sooner. It would also work better to have planting 'strips' or larger planting areas for more success.
